Brazil’s iron ore exports up 21.6 percent in Mar over Feb

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 27.5 million mt in March, rising 21.6 percent compared to February this year and up by 11.1 percent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in March this year increased by 26.9 percent compared to the previous month and fell by 3.8 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling $2.8 billion.

In March of the current year, Brazil's iron and steel export volume amounted to 577,825 mt, decreasing 25.6 percent compared to the previous month and up 7.6 percent compared to the same month of 2011, while these exports were valued at $331.1 million, with a decrease of 30.3 percent compared to February and up 1.4 percent year on year.
