Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 34.12 million mt in August this year, decreasing 1.1 compared to the same month of 2016, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in August totaled $1.33 billion in value, increasing 6.3 percent year on year.
In August, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 925,615 mt, up by 24.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $376.62 million, increasing by 26.1 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in August Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 341,113 metric tons, up by 54.4 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $236.1 million, growing by 69.6 percent from the August 2016 level.
