Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 25.5 million mt in April, falling 7.2 percent compared to March this year and up by 3.6 percent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in April this year decreased by 7.5 percent compared to the previous month and fell by 18 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling $2.6 billion.
In April of the current year, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 608,900 mt, increasing 5.4 percent compared to the previous month and up 27.3 percent compared to the same month of 2011, while these exports were valued at $362.9 million, increasing 9.6 percent compared to March and up 15.3 percent year on year.
