Brazil's national statistics agency (IBGE) has announced that in November last year industrial production in the country increased 0.2 percent compared to October, but was down 1.1 percent from November 2015. In October, industrial output in Brazil decreased by 1.2 percent month on month.
In the first 11 months of last year, industrial production in Brazil was down by 7.1 percent on year-on-year basis.
According to the announcement, in the 11th month of last year the production of intermediate goods manufacturers in Brazil increased by 0.5 percent and output of capital goods rose by 2.5 percent, output of consumer goods grew by 0.1 percent, production of durable consumer goods moved up by four percent and output of semi-durable and non-durable consumer goods dropped by 0.5 percent, all compared to the previous month.
In November 2016, Brazil's metal products output decreased by seven percent, machine and equipment output declined by 15.6 percent and output of motor vehicles and trailers moved up by 13.4 percent, all on year-on-year basis. In the January-November period last year, Brazil's metal products output decreased by 10.4 percent, machine and equipment output declined by 12.9 percent and output of motor vehicles and trailers diminished by 13.2 percent, all compared to the same period of 2015.
