Brazilian steelmakers announce pricing increase

As goes the price of raw materials, so goes the price of steel, and Brazil is no exception to the rule.  For April, Brazilian steelmakers have announced plans to increase domestic prices by as much as 15 percent.  Distribution centers will be the first to feel the impact of the new pricing models, with larger clients not impacted until Q3. Increases in domestic steel could also potentially impact taxation on imports, with increased rates imposed on offshore companies wishing to sell certain types of steel products in Brazil.
