Brazil’s chamber of foreign trade, Camex, has reduced the import tariff of several auto parts that are not produced domestically and therefore must be imported.

According to a filing published last week in Brazil’s Diario Oficial da Uniao, the country’s official gazette, the import tariff were reduced to 2 percent from 14 and 16 percent aliquots for a series of auto parts including electronic modules, electronic control units, vehicle master control units and body builder modules.

According to Camex, an agreement with Argentina allows the Brazilian country to reduce the import tariff for such products bought from the neighboring trade partner.
