The Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) concluded an investigation into the imports of Chinese high carbon steel wire, it said on Monday, with the result of applying definite antidumping (AD) duties that will be valid for a period of up to five years.

According to a Camex committee, the products subject to the tariffs include high carbon steel wire of high strength, circular section, cold drawing, with smooth or notched surface, low or normal relaxation, or any product following under the HTS codes 7217.10.19 and 7217.10.90.

On November 2016, provisional AD duties on Chinese imports of high carbon steel wire were applied by Camex as follows: $199.19/mt for Silvery Dragon Prestressed Materials Co.; and $505.56/mt for all other producers.

Definitive AD duties for Silvery Dragon will now be $124.33/mt, while all other producers, including Global Overseas Group Co, Tianjin Huashi International Trade Co and Tianjin Shengte Prestressed Concrete Steel Strand Co will pay a $563.77/mt tariff.
