Government representatives from Brazil and Mexico gathered Friday to discuss partnerships that could reinforce their respective automotive industries, the Mexican government said.

The meeting has held in Mexico City and was the second event involving the two countries, which seek to reinforce their bilateral relations with regards to their automotive industries, the biggest in Latin America.

According to the Mexican government, Friday’s meeting aimed to “revise the status of the 55 Economic Complementation Agreement (ECA 55),” which was signed by the two Latin American countries in 2012.

The ECA 55 agreement regulates the automotive trade between Brazil and Mexico.
