Borcelik revamps HDG line

Turkish producer Borcelik announced that the company will start a new modernization process for its second hot dipped galvanized line, known as Birlik Galvaniz in February 2006. The company's aim is to increase hot dipped galvanized production capacity to meet the rising demand for galvanized material. Borcelik also told SteelOrbis that the company kept away from commercial market as they focused on main and subsidiary industries of automotive and home appliances sector. The investment, which is scheduled to be completed in May/June, will increase the production capacity by 50.000-60.000 tons to 120.000-130.000 tons. The modernization project will also allow company to increase the quality and homogeneity of coated surfaces, improve the lock-forming of coated surfaces and produce in thickness ranging between 2.00-4.00 mm.
