Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) has stated that in 2014 it exported over 2 million mt of steel products, up 14.6 percent compared to 2013.

The company's hardware exports rose by seven percent year on year in 2014. The bulk of the export growth was due to metal cord and steel wire exports, up 7.2 percent and 8.6 percent respectively. In particular, metal cord sales to factories of the major transnational corporation Continental were up 122.3 percent compared to 2013. Increases in sales of steel wire were achieved thanks to exports to Germany, Poland, and Finland.

In 2014, BMZ explored five new markets, including Algeria and Sri Lanka. The company resumed exports to 10 countries, including Denmark, Tunisia, India, and others.

The company's order portfolio for 2015 is gradually being filled up. Contracts have been signed for key products already. For instance, there are plans to ship about 70,000 mt of oil and gas industry pipes to the US and 35,000 mt to Russia. The European Union will buy another 40,000 mt of pipes.

Annual contracts have been signed for the delivery of hardware products such as metal cord, high-pressure hose wire, and bronzed bead wire with all key consumers. The company has fully maintained its market shares in Europe, Russia, and North and South America.
