BMZ increases round billet output

Byelorussian Iron and Steel Works (BMZ) plans to increase the output of round billets of 200 mm diameter in its electric steelmaking shop No. 2 to more than 6,000 mt per month starting from April.
 
Accordingly, BMZ's round billets will not only be used for its own production of steel pipes, but will also be shipped for export for the first time. Half of the last batch of round billets produced on March 18 will be exported to Saudi Arabia, BMZ said.
 
"200 mm round billet is ready to be processed in the pipe rolling shop, and its exclusion from the process in the section rolling shop at mill-850 will allow us to reduce production costs," reads BMZ's statement.
