BMZ starts construction of long steel mill

Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) has stated that it has started construction of its new long steel rolling mill. The supplier of the unit is Italian company Danieli. Designed annual output capacity is 700,000 mt, with a possible increase up to 1 million mt. The mill, which is scheduled for commissioning in 2014, will produce bars with diameters of 20-85 mm and rebars in coils with diameters of 6-14 mm.

Meanwhile, BMZ has also stated that in May this year its steel smelting shop No. 1 achieved a record steel smelting volume of 164,075 mt, exceeding the previous monthly record achieved in May last year.
