BMZ freed from import duties on materials for seamless pipes

Belarusian President has signed decree to free Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ) from import duties and VAT on the material imported by the enterprise for production of seamless pipes for period of 2006-2007. The measures were taken to support BMZ in realization of project aimed to establish hot rolled seamless pipe production line with total annual capacity of 250,000 tons in accordance with concluded contracts with German SMS Mer GmbH, ZHLOPIPE and D.O.S.T Industrieconsulting GmbH. BMZ is one of the largest Belarusian steel plants with annual capacity of production of 1.9 million tons of crude steel and 1.6 million tons of rolled products.
