BlueScope starts production at Xi’an plant

On October 20, Australian steelmaker BlueScope Steel Group has announced that its new building materials production plant in Xi'an, China, built with a total investment of RMB 405 million ($66.2 million), has commenced production operations, as reported by local Chinese media sources on October 21. 

The plant, located in Xi'an Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, will produce 120,000 mt of building materials annually, with an estimated output value of RMB 1 billion ($160.8 million) per year. This is the ninth plant built by BlueScope in China.
