BHP Billiton releases its annual financial results

Australian mining giant BHP Billiton has released its preliminary financial results for the year ended 30 June, 2008.

During the period in question, BHP Billiton's total revenue increased by 25.3 percent to US$59.5 billion, its profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 22.1 percent to US$28 billion, while its attributable profit improved by 12.4 percent up to US$15.4 billion, all compared with the same period last year.

BHP Billiton's profit from operations during the year ended 30 June, 2008 increased by 22.4 percent to US$24.14 billion.
