Benxi Steel’s 2,300 mm HR strip mill produces 4.5 million mt in 2011

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel Co. (Benxi Steel) has announced that in 2011 its 2,300 mm continuous hot rolling strip mill recorded an output of 4.5 million mt, including X80 grade pipeline steel. Meanwhile, output of the continuous hot rolling strip mill directed to the export markets in 2011 totaled 800,000 mt, up 30 percent year on year.

Benxi Steel also stated that it saw an increase in the number of its customers in the international market from 40 in 2010 to 70 in 2011, especially by virtue of its high value-added products.
