Benxi Iron and Steel reports positive trend for its high-end exports

Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd has reported a positive trend in its exports of high-end products so far in 2010. In the first four months of the current year, the producer's contracted export order volume reached 0.95 million mt, with its shipment volume exceeding 0.55 million mt - which constitutes a record high.

In January-April this year, Benxi Iron and Steel completed an export contract for 13,000 mt of pipeline steel and another export contract for 10,000 mt of X56 and X60 pipeline steel. The company is also increasing exports to regions experiencing rapid economic recovery such as Brazil and India. It has signed a contract for the export of 10,000 mt of X80 pipeline steel to India. In addition, availing of opportunities ahead of the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, it has signed contracts for HRC and HDG deliveries to this destination.

At present, Benxi Iron and Steel, in addition to its traditional HRC export market in South Korea, also exports its products to Southeast Asia, India, Europe, South America and North America.
