Belarus and Egypt have discussed a wide range of cooperation issues, including cooperation in the steel trade, during the fourth round of the Belarusian-Egyptian political consultations held in Cairo on May 12-15.

The economic ties between the two countries were strengthened in 2003-2006, with Belarusian steel products dominating bilateral trade. The main Belarusian exports to Egypt include semi finished products made of carbon steel, and alloyed steel in ingots.
