Baosteel’s shipbuilding plate sales to exceed 1.4 million mt in 2010

On December 20, Chinese steel giant Baosteel predicted that its total sales of shipbuilding plates will reach a record volume of 1.4 million mt for the whole of 2010, with high-strength shipbuilding plates expected to account for almost 60 percent of its total shipbuilding plate sales in the year in question.

In 2009, the company's sales of shipbuilding plates totaled 1,357,000 mt, accounting for a 7.8 percent share of the domestic market.
