As "Baosteel Daily" reported recently, Baosteel's thermomechanically processed (TMCP) shipbuilding plate has passed performance tests carried out by Italian certification authorities, thus obtaining the World IX KR certification.

Baosteel's complex currently has an annual production capacity of nearly 3,000 tons of TMCP shipbuilding plate.

TMCP rolling and cooling technology is the most advanced plate production technology in the world, with lower costs and better performance compared to conventional technology. These plates can be welded directly, without requiring any additional operations, thus greatly improving efficiency.

TMCP products are widely used in the international markets but are currently not very popular in China.
