Baosteel Special Steel inks deal with Xi'an Sunward Aerospace Material

Baosteel Special Steel Business Unit has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xi'an, Shaanxi Province-based Xi'an Sunward Aerospace Material Co., as announced by Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group on October 23. Both sides will use their respective strengths to develop nickel-lined bimetal composite pipes for oil and gas transmission pipelines.

Baosteel Special Steel Business Unit is participating in block 9 of Sinopec's Tahe Oilfield project and in PetroChina's gas transmission project in Turkmenistan. Accordingly, Baosteel Special Steel Business Unit will supply the abovementioned pipes to both of these projects.

Xi'an Sunward Aerospace Material Co.is a subordinate company of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). The company is mainly engaged in producing composite materials, macromolecule materials and their products.
