On June 20, Chinese steelmaker Baosteel announced its ex-factory prices of some products for August, making an upward adjustment of RMB 200-300/mt ($29-44/mt) from the previous levels. The details are as follows:
Hot rolled
The prices of SPHC and SS 400 have increased by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt). Following the adjustment, the price of SPHC 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 5,742/mt ($836/mt).
Cold rolled
The prices of SPCC, BLC and DC01 are up by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). As a result, the price of SPCC/BLC 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 6,496/mt ($946/mt), while that of DC01 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 6,596/mt ($960/mt); finally, the price of DC04 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 7,296/mt ($1,062/mt).
Color coated
Prices have risen RMB 300/mt ($44/mt). Thus, the price of TDC51D 0.5 mm x 1,200 mm is RMB 7,987/mt ($1,163/mt).
Galvanized and electrical steel
Prices have remained unchanged for August. The price of DC51D+Z 0.5 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 6,327/mt ($921/mt).
Hot rolled and pickled
Prices are up by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). After the adjustment, the price of SPHC 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is RMB 5,947/mt ($866/mt).
All the above prices exclude taxes (17 percent VAT) and are effective as of June 20, 2008.
