Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that its subsidiary Baosteel International Business Inc. has received an order from National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for 10,000 metric tons of high frequency welded (HFW) line pipes. This is the first time Baosteel will deliver HFW line pipe to this major global oil exporter.

Last year, Baosteel International Business supplied HFW line pipes to oil and gas pipeline projects in Kenya, Chad and Australia, with the total volume reaching 36,000 mt.

Iran, a major petroleum exporter, has strong demand for line pipes. During the past few years, the Iranian HFW line pipe market has been dominated by the major steel enterprises of Europe, US, Japan and South Korea.
