Baobab Resources seeks partner for pig iron investment in Mozambique

Australia-based iron ore explorer Baobab Resources is looking for a partner to invest in a blast furnace to produce pig iron in Tete province, Mozambique, according to media reports.

The company has 482 million mt of iron ore resources at its Tete iron ore project, with an estimated further possible 260 million mt. The Tete project has enough iron ore to support production of 1 million mt of pig iron per year for over 100 years. Baobab Resources is considering various production scenarios with maximum production of 4 million mt of pig iron per year.
