Average HRB 400 rebar prices in China up slightly in mid-July

In mid-July (July 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 3,133.8/mt ($509/mt), RMB 3,245.3/mt ($527/mt) and RMB 3,374.7/mt ($548/mt), up RMB 9.8/mt ($1.6/mt), RMB 11.3/mt ($1.8/mt) and RMB 0.8/mt ($0.13/mt), indicating respective rises of 0.3 percent, 0.3 percent and remaining almost unchanged compared to prices in early July (July 1-10), as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics on July 24.

During the same period, the average prices of in China 20 mm Q235 common medium plates, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet and 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipe were recorded at RMB 3,394.4/mt ($551/mt), RMB 3,449.3/mt ($560/mt) and RMB 4,110.8/mt ($667/mt), down RMB 12.6/mt ($2/mt), RMB 6.2/mt ($1/mt) and RMB 38.8/mt ($6.3/mt), with respective decreases of 0.4 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.9 percent compared to prices in early July.
