In mid-August (August 11-20) this year, the average prices in
China of 16-25 mm HRB 400
rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300
wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium
plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 2,512.4/mt ($377.2 /mt), RMB 2,566.5/mt ($385.4/mt), RMB 2,713.2/mt ($407.4/mt), RMB 2,862.4/mt ($429.8/mt), RMB 3,201.4/mt ($480.7/mt) and RMB 2,722.5/mt ($408.8/mt), up RMB 53.2/mt ($8.0 /mt), RMB 47.3/mt ($7.1/mt), RMB 53.8/mt ($8.1/mt), RMB 82.5/mt ($12.4/mt), RMB 134.0/mt ($20.1/mt) and RMB 71.0/mt ($10.7/mt), rising by 2.2 percent, 1.9 percent, 2.0 percent, 3.0 percent, 4.4 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively, all compared to prices in early August (August 1-10) this year, as announced by
China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 24.
