Automotive sales in Turkey up 57.3 percent in January-April

In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 62.7 percent year on year and fell by six percent month on month to 97,679 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 69.9 percent year on year and were down by 2.3 percent month on month to 77,398 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 40.1 percent year on year and decreased by 17.9 percent month on month to 20,281 units.

In the January-April period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 57.3 percent year on year, amounting to 333,650 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 55.7 percent to 252,819 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 62.7 percent to 80,831 units, both on year-on-year basis.
