Arrium’s iron ore production declines in Q1 from Q4 level

Australia-based mining and materials company Arrium Limited has announced that it produced a record 2.66 million mt of iron ore in the quarter ending March 31 of the current year, down 17 percent compared to the previous quarter. The company's iron ore shipments in the given quarter amounted to 3.02 million mt, decreasing by four percent quarter on quarter.

The company said that the quarterly shipment volume was pleasing given the impact of some significant adverse weather in the given quarter.
