Argentinian industrial production declines 1.1 percent in January

Argentinian industrial production in January dropped 1.1 percent, year-on-year, according to figures released by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.
 
Indec said industrial output in the local automotive segment in January rose 71.1 percent, year-on-year. On the other hand, industrial production in the metal-mechanic industry declined 1 percent in January, year-on-year.
 
According to Indec’s qualitative survey, which measures the year-on-year expectations for the nation’s industrial companies for the period of February 2017 to April 2017, 52.2 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand in the period. On the other hand, another 30.7 percent foresee an increase, while 17.1 percent expect a decrease in domestic demand.
 
Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 56.5 percent expect a stable February-April period for exports on a year-on-year analysis. However, 26.7 percent expect an increase and 16.8 percent estimate a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
