Argentinian industrial activity down in February

Argentinian industrial output in February fell 6 percent, year-on-year, according to figures released by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.
 
According to Indec’s data, industrial production at the local automotive sector in the second month of the year declined 18.6 percent, year-on-year.
 
Likewise, industrial output at the country’s metal-mechanic industry dropped 8.5 percent in the same period, year-on-year.
 
According to a Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the nation’s industrial companies for the period of March to May, on a year-on-year basis, 51.9 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand in the period.
 
On the other hand, another 32.8 percent foresee an increase, while 15.3 percent expect a decrease in domestic demand.
 
Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 56 percent expect a stable March-May period for exports on a year-on-year analysis.
 
However, 28.8 percent expect an improvement and 15.2 percent estimate a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
