Argentinian crude steel output in August rose 21.6 percent, year-on-year, to 417,400 mt, the country’s steel chamber, CAA, said on Wednesday. On a monthly basis, crude steel production improved 4.7 percent, month-on-month, from 398,800 mt in July.
Accumulated crude steel output for the eight-month period was 2.9 million mt, 6.6 percent up, year-on-year.
Hot rolled finished steel production in August surged up 78.7 percent, year-on-year, but fell 1 percent, month-on-month, to 421,700 mt. Hot rolled finished steel output from January to August was 3 million mt, 17.5 percent up, year-on-year.
Cold rolled flat steel output in August was 122,300 mt, 80.9 percent up, year-on-year, but 7.5 percent down, month-on-month. Argentina’s cold rolled flat steel production for the eight-month period dropped 3.1 percent, year-on-year, to 881,300 mt.
