Argentina’s crude, hot rolled finished steel output fall in April

Argentinian crude steel production in April fell 16.9 percent, year-on-year, but rose 0.4 percent, month-on-month, to 319,100 mt, the nation’s steel chamber, CAA, said on Monday.

According to CAA, Argentina’s crude steel output in the first four months of the year reached 1.3 million mt, 17.2 percent down, year-on-year.

The local steel association said hot rolled finished steel production in April diminished 9.5 percent, year-on-year, and 4.5 percent, month-on-month, to 351,900 mt.  As for the Jan-April period, hot rolled finished steel output fell 13.6 percent, year-on-year, to nearly 1.3 million mt.

Argentina’s cold rolled flat steel production in April rose 19.6 percent, year-on-year, and 8.9 percent, month-on-month, to 136,400 mt. Accumulated cold rolled flat steel output from January to April was 499,100 mt, 10.3 percent up, year-on-year.
