Argentina’s auto output rises 20 percent in May from April

Argentina’s auto production output in May this year totaled 45,273 units, rising by 20 percent month on month and up 13.8 percent year on year, as announced by the country’s automotive industry association Adefa.
 
According to Adefa, in May Argentinian auto exports increased by 7.5 percent compared to the previous month and were up by 9.7 percent compared to May last year to 19,956 units. Meanwhile, car sales in the country in May totaled 79,521, increasing by 16.7 percent month on month and growing by 31.7 percent year on year.
 
The nation’s automotive industry produced 173,908 units in the January-May period of this year, 4.6 percent less year on year. In the same period, exports rose to 78,720 units, up 6.1 percent year on year.
