Argentina’s crude steel production decreased 3 percent in October, month-on-month, but remained stable compared to the previous year, reaching 477,500 mt, according to the country’s steel chamber CAA.

According to CAA, crude steel production from January to October reached 4.5 million mt, up 7 percent up year-on-year. The increase in crude steel production within the period is a result of stoppages for maintenance in 2013.

CAA also said cold rolled flat steel output in October fell 9.7 percent month on month and 31.7 percent year on year to 96,000 mt.
