Argentinian steelmaker Acindar, which is part steelmaking group ArcelorMittal, has reduced output by half at its Villa Constitución plant located in the Argentinian province of Santa Fe, according to a local media report.

The company wasn’t immediately available to comment the issue, but a media report said the mill has reduced output by half since last Friday due to a sluggish domestic demand.

Citing an Acindar HR source, the media reported noted that the measure will last for two months, and aims to help the local steelmaker avoid accumulating inventories while demand remains weak.

The same mill suspended steel output for ten days last month, from March 18-28.
