ArcelorMittal TB Zaragoza will deliver yearly around 1.2 million laser welded parts (tailored blanks - TB), which represent around 18,000 mt per year of galvanized high quality steel for the new Opel Meriva, produced in the General Motors plant located in Zaragoza, Spain, according to a report issued on ArcelorMittal's website.

The technology of TB consists of welding laser blanks of different thicknesses and qualities obtaining welded parts to be used in the body-in-white of cars, bringing important advantages such as weight reduction and a higher passive safety for passengers.
