ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’s crude steel output up 7.2% in Q1

In the first quarter of the current year, the crude steel production of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, totaled 1.5093 million mt, up 7.2 percent year on year, as announced by the company.

In addition, in the first quarter of the year ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih registered a 6.6 percent increase year on year in its finished steel output to 1.3323 million mt, while its pig iron production in the given period rose by 7.6 percent year on year to 1.3365 million mt.

Meanwhile, in March alone, crude steel production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased by 10.2 percent to 542,400 mt, output of finished steel went up by 6.4 percent to 483,500 mt, and production of pig iron rose by 10.7 percent to 480,000 mt, all on year-on-year basis.

According to the company's statement, short-term repairs of its BOF No. 1 and 4, lime kiln No. 1, blooming facility No. 2 and of the wagon tippler of sinter plant No. 3 were carried out in March.
