ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih repairs steelmaking department units

ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, Ukraine-based subsidiary of the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal, has announced that it is carrying out repairs of open hearth furnace no. 4 and bailing press B-1642 in its steelmaking department.

Accordingly, from July1 to 28 ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is repairing the open hearth furnace no. 4 at its open hearth furnace workshop. With the repair of the furnace, the mill will be able to reduce heat loss and maintenance costs, will save fuel and electric power, will improve gas purification and will secure the stability of the furnace's thermo-technical regime.

The repair of bailing press B-1642 in the scrap preparation workshop is being carried out between May 26 and August 8 of the current year. The repair work will allow ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih to increase the bailing press' productivity and to avoid emergency situations.
