Arcelor returns to normal production level

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, European steelmaker Arcelor has decided to cut its steel production by 50'000-60'000 tons during the third quarter of 2003. However, the company is planning to return to normal stainless steel production level in the fourth quarter of 2003. This decision is in relation with company policy of matching production with demand. Also, Arcelor started to fill its order books after a quiet period. The company's main meltshops are Acesita located in Brazil, J & L Specialty Steel in US and Ugine & Alz in Belgium and France.
