Aperam sees significant increase net profit in Q1

Luxembourg-headquartered global stainless steel producer Aperam SA has announced its financial results for the first quarter of the current year.
 
In the first quarter, Aperam's net profit increased by 89.7 percent to $93 million, while its sales amounted to $1.27 billion, rising 18.5 percent, both year on year. In the given period, steel shipments rose by 0.62 percent year on year to 486,000 mt compared to the first quarter of the previous year. Aperam's EBITDA declined to $171 million, increasing by 52 percent year on year.
 
In the second quarter, Aperam expects its EBITDA to be in line with the first quarter.
