Aperam posts lower sales revenues and EBITDA for Q1 amid lower prices

Luxembourg-headquartered global stainless steel producer Aperam SA has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2023.

In the first quarter, Aperam reported a net profit of €132 million, compared to a net profit of €187 million in the first quarter of the previous year. In the given quarter, the company’s sales revenues amounted to €1.87 billion, falling by 17.2 percent year on year and up by 16.1 compared to the previous quarter. Aperam’s EBITDA decreased by 1.5 percent from the previous quarter and was down by 65 percent year on year to €127 million, due to lower prices.

In the given quarter, Aperam’s steel shipments rose by 19.8 percent quarter on quarter and were down by 12.1 percent year on year to 591,000 mt, due to seasonal factors.

The company’s EBITDA in the second quarter this year is expected to be higher compared to the first quarter.
