Ansteel to supply over 10,000 steel rails for metro lines in Dalian

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Group Co. (Ansteel) is to supply over 10,000 steel rails for lines No.1 and No. 2 of the metro system in Dalian, Liaoning, which total 65 km, according to Chinese media sources. Ansteel will be the sole supplier of steel rails for the project in question.
 
Each 60 kg/m steel rail will be 25 meters long. So far, the first 70 steel rails weighing a total of 105 mt have been delivered. The rails will start to be laid in 2013.
