Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Group Co. (Ansteel) has announced that on December 18 it signed an agreement to establish a long-term strategic cooperative partnership with Dalian Port Group Co. with the aim of promoting mutual development.
According to the agreement, both sides will implement comprehensive cooperation in logistics, port construction and operation of shipping routes to make Dalian Port a logistics transit port for Ansteel, which will help to reduce Ansteel's logistics costs. Meanwhile, Ansteel will be actively involved in helping Dalian Port develop "harmonious port-city relations". In addition, both sides have agreed to make efforts to achieve normalized operation of the Arctic shipping route between Asia and Europe.
