Anshan Steel sees strong output increases in 2010

On January 28, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Angang) announced that it produced 30.7316 million of pig iron and 30.2198 million of crude steel in 2010, both up from levels of approximately 20 million mt in 2009. Anshan Iron and Steel also produced 28.7692 million mt of finished steel products in 2010, compared to 19 million mt registered in 2009.
 
Anshan Iron and Steel's finished steel export volume in 2010 amounted to 1.81 million mt, reaching a value of $1.24 billion, compared to 1.04 million mt and $550 million respectively for 2009.
 
In 2010, Anshan Iron and Steel's sales income totaled RMB 151.3 billion ($23 billion), with a net profit of RMB 4.957 billion ($753 million), compared to RMB 80 billion ($12.2 billion) and RMB 3.1 billion ($472 million) respectively for 2009.
