Alphasteel plans to increase production

UK steel producer Alphasteel is aiming to increase its electric arc furnace (EAF) production to around 1.3 million tons per annum by mid 2004 from 300'000 tons per annum. Moreover, the company is planning to raise production of rebar and other light long products. It is forecasted that the annual production capacity will be 700'000 tons at the beginning of 2004.
