Alchevsk to increase slab shipments in May

Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced that its plans to increase slab shipments in May by 13 percent compared to April, to 150,000 mt.

In May, Alchevsk plans to produce 300,000 mt of steel products, up 10 percent compared to April. In May, the company plans to increase crude steel production by nine percent compared to April, to 330,000 mt.

In January-April, Alchevsk produced more than 1.1 million mt of finished steel products, down 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
