Alchevsk to increase crude steel output in January

Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced that in 2013 it produced 3.812 million mt of finished steel products, up 9.3 percent, 4.174 million mt of crude steel, up 7.9 percent, and 3.792 million mt of pig iron, up 7.7 percent, all on year-on-year basis.

In December last year, the company produced 333,000 mt of finished steel products, 372,000 mt of crude steel and 333,000 mt of pig iron.

In January this year, the company plans to produce 390,000 mt of crude steel and 350,000 mt of pig iron.
