Sohar, Oman-based steel pipe manufacturer Al Jazeera Steel has announced that it has decided to stop exports to Canada, after Canada's decision to collect antidumping (AD) duties on pipe imports from Oman.

In its filing to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM), Al Jazeera Steel said that the Canada International Trade Tribune has imposed a 54.2 percent dumping duty on the company's pipe exports to Canada.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) found the dumping of carbon steel welded pipe, commonly identified as standard pipe, exported from Taiwan, the Republic of India, the Sultanate of Oman, the Republic of Korea, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had not caused injury, but were threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
