AK Steel announces price increases for PH products

AK Steel today announced new price increases for precipitation hardening (PH) stainless steel products. Base prices of PH products will increase approximately 10 percent, effective to shipments on and after September 19. AK Steel attributes the price changes to increased expenses for manufacturing, energy, and transportation. The company noted its raw material surcharges will continue for stainless steel products. PH stainless steel has high strength and hardness. It is used in a variety of aircraft, aerospace, chemical, and food processing applications.
