Danieli Group’s steelmaking division, ABS (Acciaierie Bertoli Safau), has acquired Rott-Ferr, a local company based near Udine that specializes in scrap collection and industrial demolitions.

Rott-Ferr has been present in the steel sector for over twenty years, and every year it collects more than 100,000 mt of recyclable materials.

According to the local Italian press, the acquisition will ensure ABS a continuous scrap supply, in order to contrast the foreseen European crisis caused by the decision of many steelmaking industries to switch from a BF-based production to an EAF-based production.
